Build clear line items
For each item:
- Select a service when an existing service matches the work.
- Write a description the customer will understand.
- Set the quantity and unit price.
- Check the line total and tax.
The description is what the customer sees. You can adjust it without renaming the underlying service.
Describe recurring work carefully
When quoting for repeating work, mark the relevant line as recurring and describe the frequency clearly—for example, Every four weeks rather than Monthly when that distinction matters.
A recurring line describes the proposal. Check the resulting schedule when accepted work is turned into jobs.
Review and follow the status
After sending, use the status to see whether the quote is draft, sent, accepted, declined or expired. Do not resend an expired or declined quote as though it were still current; create or update the proposal first.
